A remarkable weekend of ‍racing saw Kia‍ Joorabchian’s Amo Racing secure a prestigious double, spearheaded by notable victories for Power Blue and Bucanero. Simultaneously‍ occurring, connections are considering a bold ‍move for Spicy Marg in the upcoming Nunthorpe Stakes at York.

Power Blue and Bucanero Shine for Amo Racing

Trainer george Murray ⁣was effusive in his praise following the⁣ victories, describing ⁤the double as “unbelievable.” ⁤Both horses delivered‍ on expectations, but Murray acknowledged the challenge posed by Aidan O’Brien’s formidable⁣ string in the Group One contests.

“We expected a big run from ‍both of them, but we were taking on Aidan O’Brien⁢ in the Group One,” Murray explained. “I was always told never be afraid too run – they don’t win anything stood in their stable.”

Power Blue’s success was attributed to his exceptional speed.”power Blue ran very quick sectionals all the way and that is what won him it,” Murray revealed. “He has a ⁣high cruising speed but isn’t a horse who⁤ finds‍ a whole lot off that speed. He can maintain‍ a very high cruising speed.”

Looking ahead, Power⁢ Blue⁤ is likely to target the National Stakes on Champions Weekend, although he also holds an entry in the sales race at York. “He’s in at York in the sales race, but he’s a Group One winner now,” Murray stated.

Bucanero, ⁣meanwhile, impressed with his cozy victory. “Bucanero was just very comfortable the whole way through the race and the further ⁤they went, the more it looked like he was going to win,” Murray said. “He was never out of his comfort zone and is a very good horse.”

The Robson Aguiar Factor

Murray was quick to credit‍ his assistant, Robson ‍Aguiar, for identifying and sourcing the talented horses.⁤ “We’re ‍very lucky to have these horses and it’s all down to Robson, he’s sourced them and didn’t ⁣really spend fortunes on them. He’s a brilliant man at picking these horses,” Murray⁢ enthused. He added, “None of the good ones⁢ were that expensive in the grand scheme of things, but I think we got a little bit lucky with Bucanero as he’s by⁣ wootton Bassett and we⁢ got him just before he really took⁢ off.” This shrewd acquisition highlights amo Racing’s commitment to identifying value and nurturing talent.

Nunthorpe on the Horizon for Spicy Marg

Adding to ⁢the excitement, Spicy Marg is under consideration for a⁣ supplementary⁤ entry into the prestigious Nunthorpe Stakes at York. Trained by Michael Bell, the ⁣filly has shown promising form, bouncing ⁤back from disappointing runs in the Queen⁢ Mary and Duchess of Cambridge Stakes with an impressive victory at Goodwood.

Bell is optimistic about Spicy Marg’s chances, citing her impressive speed figures and favourable⁣ pedigree.”The plan is to give⁢ it a go. All the speed analysts seem to‍ think she should be having a crack at it – her figures are very, very good – and ⁤she clearly is in very good form,” he said.

He also highlighted the influence of her⁣ dam, Main Desire, who enjoyed success over ‍five furlongs at York. “I think it’s very relevant her ‍dam [main Desire] ⁣ won two Listed races⁤ over five furlongs on the Knavesmire, so it’s in ‍her genes ⁣she should like the track and I strongly think she will.”‍ As a juvenile filly, Spicy Marg would benefit from a weight allowance, adding to her appeal.

Other Contenders for the Nunthorpe

Spicy Marg isn’t ⁤the only filly targeting the Nunthorpe. William Knight’s Frost at Dawn is also set to line up, having finished a close second in the King Charles III Stakes at Royal⁢ Ascot and fourth in the King George at Goodwood.Knight is hoping for favourable ground conditions.”She ⁢doesn’t need to do much between now ‍and ⁣then,‍ she’s put⁤ her weight back on‍ already,” he stated. “I just hope and pray the rain stays away at york and if it’s good to firm ground there I think she⁢ could run ⁤a massive race.”

The Nunthorpe Stakes promises to be a thrilling contest, with a diverse field of talented ⁤sprinters vying for glory. ‍The potential⁢ participation of Spicy Marg adds an extra layer of intrigue ⁤to what ⁤is already a highly anticipated race.
