Arlene Hayes: Organizing the charity event ​was, without⁣ a⁣ doubt, a turning‍ point in my life. I wanted to give ​back to the community and support the organization that had helped many like me. ⁤The ‌event brought together numerous survivors, raising awareness and funds for a cause close to my heart. It was liberating to break my silence and use my experience for something positive. Seeing‌ the community come together was incredibly⁢ uplifting and reaffirmed ⁤my belief in collective healing.

ND3: What message do you ‍hope to convey to other survivors ‌through ​your story and your ⁤advocacy work?

Arlene Hayes: I want survivors to ⁢know that they are not alone and that healing is possible. It’s okay to speak out ⁣and share your story, and it’s also okay to seek help. My journey is ongoing, and while⁤ there are still challenges, I have found a renewed sense of purpose and strength. Together, we can change the narrative and create a culture ⁤of support and understanding.

ND3: How do​ you feel about where you are today, both personally and professionally?

Arlene‌ Hayes: I genuinely feel like I am living my⁣ best life. ⁢Although the journey hasn’t been‌ easy, I have‌ embraced who I ‌am‌ and the ⁣lessons learned along the way.
