OLAVARRÍA, Argentina – The Municipal Cultural Center “San José,” a cornerstone of arts and culture in Olavarría, is celebrating it’s 15th anniversary. Since opening its doors on May 25, 2010, the center has become a regional icon, transforming a historic building into a vibrant community space.
Housed in the former “San José” girls’ home, established in 1913, the municipality undertook an ambitious project to repurpose the site while preserving its original architecture and design. The center quickly exceeded expectations, becoming a hub for artistic expression and community engagement.
The San josé Cultural Center has hosted exhibitions featuring renowned artists such as Dalí, Picasso, Bernasconi, Marcos López, and Sandro. Art Festival to Mark Anniversary
To commemorate its 15th anniversary, the Undersecretariat of Culture and Education is organizing an “Art festival” scheduled for this Saturday, May 24, starting at 2 p.m.
The festival will feature art installations, living statues, engraving and printmaking demonstrations, a collective mural project, poetry readings, drawing activities, a children’s show, open salsa and bachata classes, a DJ set by Juan Fleitas, and a performance by the band “Another Return.”
