Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – the world’s top eight young tennis stars arrived in Jeddah Monday, ready to battle it out at the Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF.
The tournament,taking place for the second consecutive year in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,kicked off with a unique photo possibility.The players posed on a court constructed from 37 traditional carpets and a tennis net woven from palm leaves,symbolizing Jeddah’s rich cultural tapestry and its welcoming spirit.

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – The Next Gen ATP Finals Jeddah is heating up, both on and off the court.Before the intense competition begins, the top eight rising stars in men’s tennis enjoyed a taste of Saudi Arabian hospitality with a welcome reception overlooking the Red sea.
Players gathered on the terrace of their hotel, soaking in the stunning views and camaraderie. Later,they set sail on a yacht,cruising the azure waters as the sun dipped below the horizon.”It’s good to be here, it’s a great place,” said Czech star Jakub Mensik, currently ranked No. 48 in the PIF ATP Rankings. Mensik, who has already notched four Top 10 wins this season, is eager to make his mark in Jeddah.
Brazilian Joao Fonseca, who made waves with his upset victory over top seed Arthur Fils at the rio Open presented by Claro earlier this year, expressed his excitement at being part of the prestigious event.
“It feels awesome [to be here]. they’ve had this tournament as 2017, so it feels really nice to be the first Brazilian,” Fonseca said. ”It means I’m part of the Next Gen, and I think for me it tells me I’m on the right path, so it’s really nice.”
The action kicks off Wednesday at the King Abdullah Sports City,with group play leading to the semi-finals on Saturday and the final on Sunday.
Last year’s finalist, Arthur Fils, headlines the blue Group, facing off against Mensik, American Learner Tien, and Fonseca.Second-seeded American Alex Michelsen, making his second appearance at the event, leads the Red Group. He’ll be challenged by China’s Shang Juncheng, France’s Luca Van Assche, and former American college standout Nishesh Basavareddy.
