Southeast ‌Asian nations are striving for ‍limited ‌breakthroughs regarding tariff relief from the United ⁣States. Analysts suggest that these countries are ⁢working to ⁢appease the world’s largest economy as President Donald Trump’s‌ next trade move remains unclear.

Individual ASEAN members have engaged in direct negotiations with the U.S. through May. Though, ⁣the outcome of these bilateral efforts to ⁤gain relief from Trump’s sweeping tariffs remains uncertain. The tariffs were initially announced in April, followed by a 90-day pause on levies exceeding 10%, which is⁣ set to expire in July.
