Madrid, Spain – A recent judicial clarification has significantly altered the charges against Marco Asensio in a case involving the alleged recording and distribution of sexual videos featuring three women, one of whom was a minor. While Asensio remains under investigation for receiving and sharing the content, the judge has officially withdrawn the accusation that he was directly involved in the filming of the sexual encounters.
AsensioS role Re-evaluated in distribution Case
The initial allegations against Asensio centered on his alleged involvement in the distribution of explicit videos. While he was not present during the sexual encounters, he faces charges of revelation of secrets and child pornography. Prosecutors contend that Asensio received the video and shared it with a third party, fully aware that it had been recorded without consent, that the individuals involved had requested its deletion, and that one of the women was a minor.the defense for the minor victim, who appeared in the video recorded in 2023 at a beach club in Gran Canaria by three former Real Madrid youth players – Juan Rodríguez, Ferran Ruiz, and Andrés García – had initially sought a four-year prison sentence for Asensio. Their argument was based on his alleged sharing of the video with knowledge of its non-consensual recording. The defense also called for trial proceedings against the players, who are no longer affiliated with Real Madrid, and Asensio, who currently plays for the club’s first team.
Details of the Alleged Incident Emerge
The events in question took place on June 15, 2023. According to the prosecutor’s report, Ferrán Ruiz and Rodríguez Lima engaged in sexual relations with the minor, while García Alemán was involved with an 18-year-old woman. Another 17-year-old woman was also present. The prosecutor’s statement details how, during the sexual encounter, Ferrán allegedly began recording the relations with a mobile device without the consent of anyone present. He then reportedly passed the device to Juan, who continued filming and photographing the meeting. Following the encounter, Ferrán, Juan, and Andrés are accused of facilitating these photographs and recordings to third parties with the intent to undermine the dignity and sexual progress of the victims, as well as their intimacy.
Distribution Channels and Asensio’s Involvement
From his mobile device, Ferrán is alleged to have shared the non-consensual recording in a WhatsApp group named “what Ferrán wants.” While the video and two images posted in this group coudl not be recovered, other restored files from Ferrán’s device, including three video files and two images, where recovered. However, one file in MP4 format remains unrecovered. ferrán also reportedly sent four other files to a group called “the dear four,” which have also not been recovered.
Further details indicate that between June 15 and 16, Ferrán sent eight videos in various formats to a WhatsApp group called “the Canary Islands,” in which Asensio was a participant. The last video shared was reportedly titled “I so doors les canaries.” This content was also allegedly sent to a group named “Cabritinhas” and to another user. On June 23, Asensio reportedly requested the recording from Rodríguez Lima, who then sent it in a single-view format. Asensio’s stated intention was to show the video to a friend in Las Palmas.
Prosecutor’s Sentencing Request for Players
The Prosecutor’s Office is seeking a penalty of four years and seven months for the three former Real Madrid players. Additionally, they are requesting a prohibition for the players to approach within 500 meters of the victims’ homes or workplaces. The prosecution also seeks compensation for each of the two women, amounting to €25,000. The judicial clarification regarding Asensio’s role in the filming itself marks a notable development in the ongoing legal proceedings.
