Ashraf bin Sharqi to Zamalek: The Door is Open, But
Ashraf Ben Sharqi’s Potential Return to Zamalek: What We Know
A Zamalek club source has revealed details of what was reported to be a return to the White Castle table for Moroccan Ashraf Ben Sharqi to discuss his inclusion next January.
Recent reports have suggested that Ashraf Bin Sharqi’s name has been mooted again to join Zamalek in the upcoming winter transfer window, as he will become a free player next January. This development comes as Qatari club Al Rayyan look to replace foreigners in the squad due to their poor position in the Qatar league table.
A source close to the matter told Al-Masri Al-Youm that Zamalek officials welcome Ashraf bin Sharqi’s presence in the team due to the player’s acceptance among white fans, in addition to his prominent level, which will be an addition to the team.
The source explained that Ben Sharqi’s name was presented to Zamalek officials through an intermediary, but the matter did not become serious due to the presence of some obstacles that could stand in the way of completing the deal.
One of the main obstacles is the unclear foreign player seat in January, as Samson Akinola has insisted on not giving up or accepting all of his dues in the event of his departure. Additionally, Jose Gomez has requested a deal with Englishman Ovie Ezeria, which could impact the potential inclusion of Ben Sharqi.
Furthermore, disputes over financial compensation have disrupted talks, raising questions about the relationship between officials and players. If an agreement on Ben Sharqi’s presence in January is reached, will the relationship between officials and players be closer?
