Pakistan Struggles with Batting
Pakistan faced early setbacks, reduced to 5-2 within the first 10 balls of the innings. Consistent pressure from Bangladeshi bowlers, particularly Taskin Ahmed (3-28) and Mahedi Hasan (2-28), continued to dismantle the Pakistani batting lineup, leaving them reeling at 49-5 in the 11th over.
Mohammad Haris provided some resistance with a top score of 31 off 23 balls, aided by contributions from Shaheen Shah Afridi (19) and Mohammad Nawaz (25). However, the partnership wasn’t enough to lift Pakistan to a competitive total, as they finished on 135-8.
Bangladesh Faces Challenges in Chase
The chase proved tough for Bangladesh as well, with three wickets falling during the powerplay and the team later finding themselves at 44-4. Shamim Hossain’s 30 off 25 balls offered a glimmer of hope, but his dismissal by Shaheen Afridi (3-17) in the 17th over proved pivotal.
Further wickets fell quickly to Haris Rauf, and despite late boundaries from Rishad Hossain,Bangladesh ultimately fell short of the target.
