Architect Aims to Rebuild Crypto Credit With TradFi Underwriting Standards
Table of Contents
Architect,a new crypto credit firm,is taking a unique approach to lending in the digital asset space – applying customary finance (TradFi) underwriting standards to decentralized infrastructure. The firm believes this will unlock a new wave of institutional capital and move the industry away from speculative bets towards productive economic contribution.
Architect’s Vision: From Reactive Outflows to Real Value
Traditional crypto lending often reacts to market downturns, experiencing liquidity pressures and forced asset sales. Architect aims to flip this dynamic, transforming liquidity pressure into real value creation. The firm focuses on Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN), seeing them as an underfunded niche with strong potential.
“If I want to speculate on bitcoin, I would buy bitcoin,” explains Architect founder and CEO, Tarun Amenyogbo. “but as a credit lender, I can underwrite a bitcoin miner and make a bet on that mining operation and its cashflows outcompeting the market.”
This approach shifts the focus from simply betting on price appreciation to funding tangible economic outputs. By underwriting operations with demonstrable cash flows, Architect aims to provide a more stable and attractive investment opportunity for institutional investors wary of the volatility frequently enough associated with crypto.
Building a Credible risk Assessment Framework
architect’s core ambition is to rebuild crypto’s capital stack from the ground up. This involves establishing itself as the first credible risk assessor for decentralized infrastructure. The firm intends to achieve this by implementing TradFi-grade underwriting standards, a critically important departure from the frequently enough-lax lending practices prevalent in the crypto space.
Amenyogbo envisions a future where crypto credit scales like traditional debt – bundled, rated, insured, and syndicated into the largest pools of capital globally. “Raising a $100 million fund is cool, but it’s just a drop in the ocean,” he stated. “What we’re really doing is laying the groundwork for crypto credit to scale the way traditional debt does.”
This focus on robust risk assessment and institutional-grade infrastructure is designed to attract a broader range of investors, ultimately increasing liquidity and stability within the crypto ecosystem. The firm believes this will foster a more sustainable and mature market, less prone to the boom-and-bust cycles that have characterized the industry’s past.
