Asia’s Poker Boom: Weekend Highlights from USOP Hai Phong & Manila Megastack 20

The live poker scene in Asia is vibrant again, with major events like the USOP Hai Phong and Manila Megastack 20 attracting players globally. Online poker platforms such as PokerBaazi and Natural8 India hosted thrilling tournaments this past Friday, while Adda52 and Junglee Poker also joined in with the Big Whale event. Players delivered exciting performances, featuring thrilling comebacks and fresh talent making a mark.

Anant Purohit shone prominently on Friday. This experienced player had his best year yet, dominating on Natural8 India. He earned ₹8.61 Lakhs from two impressive runs, securing ₹7.38 Lakhs from the Bounty Hunters Fifty Stack 54 and ₹1.22 Lakhs from a 45th-place finish in the HR 525 tournament.

JaiKiran Kumar experienced a memorable day, securing two wins and earning ₹5.29 Lakhs from four deep runs. He emerged victorious in Junglee Poker’s Friday Supernova for ₹1.67 Lakhs and then claimed the top prize of ₹3.91 Lakhs in Adda52’s The Ballers.

On PokerBaazi, ‘temjensoba’ won The Quest, his fifth title with a personal-best prize of ₹5.38 Lakhs. Neeraj Kumar, a consistent player, finished second in The Quest for ₹3.23 Lakhs, combining numerous deep runs for a total earning of ₹3.59 Lakhs.

In a noteworthy victory, newcomer ‘Shyam_123’ captured Pocket52’s Highroller for ₹3.86 Lakhs, their second notable finish. ‘frankie08’ came in second with ₹2.70 Lakhs, while Ankit Wadhawan took third with ₹1.74 Lakhs.

Manash Kalita broke a five-month title drought by winning PokerBaazi’s WTF for ₹2.39 Lakhs. Habil Jiruwala, last month’s Big Whale champion, was a strong runner-up, earning ₹1.57 Lakhs. Nandan Pugalia won PokerBaazi’s Daily Last Chance for ₹1.53 Lakhs, marking his third title of the month and pushing his total winnings to over ₹1 Crore.

Various players also celebrated victories, including Nikhil Krishna, Janish Jain, and Rajneesh Thakur, showcasing the diverse talent in the poker scene.

The tournaments saw impressive prize pools and significant participation, reflecting the growing popularity of online poker. Prominent results include:
