Asquan Navigates Global Trade Uncertainties, Prioritizes Sustainable Innovation
Asquan, a global packaging supplier for the makeup and skincare markets, is strategically navigating international trade complexities while maintaining a strong focus on sustainable innovation, according to Henri Tinchage, a company representative.
Robust Growth and Global Presence
Asquan has experienced consistent organic growth and remains open to external expansion opportunities. The company currently serves 120 active customers across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East, with a direct presence in each of these regions, according to Tinchage.
Diversified Production Amid Trade Tensions
Addressing concerns about global trade uncertainties, notably those involving the U.S. and China, Asquan has diversified its production across Asia. Manufacturing occurs not only in China but also in taiwan, Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam. While China has historically offered advantages in production capacity, speed, and cost, tariffs imposed by the United States are prompting a reevaluation of supply chains, Tinchage noted.
“Our asset is that we are not traders,” Tinchage stated. “we have our own designers, our laboratories, our tools – the only thing we don’t have is the machines. This is what makes our agility and in the current context, it is rather an asset!”
Ecovadis Gold Certification and Sustainable Innovation
Sustainability is a core strategic element for Asquan. The company offers a range of refillable packaging options and recently introduced Asquan Biodegradability Technology, which renders plastic biodegradable without producing microplastics. According to the company, this plastic remains mechanically and chemically recyclable. Asquan’s sustainability efforts have been recognized with an Ecovadis Gold certification.
Recent Innovations and Patents
Asquan is actively developing innovative dispensing solutions, with two patents currently in progress. One patent concerns a dual-compartment pot, called the Powder Drop, designed for controlled dispensing of loose powders. The other involves a flexible component adaptable to various applicator shapes. Additionally, Asquan offers a “free-flowing” cap that allows product release without removing the cap. These innovations reflect Asquan’s focus on high-value dispensing solutions,a strategic area for potential patents.
Global Development and Operations
Design and innovation are primarily managed from the U.S. West Coast. Asquan also maintains offices in Paris,a finance and logistics hub in Hong Kong,a subsidiary in Shenzhen with engineers and quality control, and holdings in Singapore. The company employs a team of approximately 50 people.
Targeting Prestige Brands
Asquan aims to be a strategic partner for prestige and mass-market brands, particularly in France. The company seeks to differentiate itself through speed, customization capabilities, and customer service.
Full-Service Model
Asquan offers a full-service model, providing complete support from design to finished product for both large beauty corporations and indie brands. This includes partnerships such as the production of eye-liners with Nippon shikizai, with filling operations based in France, according to the company. This partnership exemplifies Asquan’s integrated and agile approach.
