Assad Receives Support from abkhazia Amidst Renewed Fighting in Syria
Damascus, Syria – Syrian President Bashar al-Assad received a phone call from Badra Gomba, the acting president of the Republic of Abkhazia, reaffirming Abkhazia’s unwavering support for Syria in its fight against terrorism.
Gomba emphasized that abkhazia stands with Syria “as a state, people, and leadership” in the face of “all organized terrorist attacks.”
President al-Assad responded by stating that “terrorism only understands the language of force,” and that Syria will use force to “dismantle and eliminate” it, nonetheless of the support it receives. He further asserted that terrorists “do not represent individuals or organizations; they only represent the organizations that direct and support them.”
This show of solidarity comes as fighting intensifies in northwestern Syria. The Syrian army announced on Sunday that it had retaken control of several towns previously seized by armed groups in recent days.
Though, fighters from the armed faction, led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, claimed to have continued their advance south of Aleppo, capturing the city of Khanas in an attempt to sever the army’s main supply route to the city.
Last Wednesday, these armed groups launched an operation dubbed “resistance to aggression,” seizing control of vast swathes of northwestern Syria, including a significant portion of Aleppo.
Abkhazia Stands with Syria in Face of Renewed fighting
Damascus, Syria - Amidst a surge in fighting in northwestern Syria, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad received a powerful show of support from the Republic of Abkhazia. Badra Gomba, the acting president of Abkhazia, affirmed his country’s unwavering solidarity with Syria in its fight against terrorism.
“Abkhazia stands with Syria as a state, people, and leadership in the face of all organized terrorist attacks,” Gomba emphasized during a phone call with President al-Assad.
In response, President al-Assad reiterated his government’s resolute stance against terrorism, stating that “terrorism only understands the language of force,” and that Syria will utilize all necessary means to “dismantle and eliminate” it, nonetheless of external support. He further asserted that terrorists “do not represent individuals or organizations; they only represent the organizations that direct and support them.”
This declaration of support comes as fighting intensifies in northwestern Syria. The Syrian army announced the recapture of several towns previously seized by armed groups in recent days. however,Hayat Tahrir al-Sham,the leading faction among the armed groups,claimed to have made further advances south of Aleppo,capturing the city of khanas in an attempt to sever the army’s primary supply route to the city.
The escalation follows last Wednesday’s launch of an operation dubbed “resistance to aggression” by these armed groups, resulting in the seizure of vast swathes of northwestern Syria, including a meaningful portion of aleppo.
