Assistant Secretary Stewart Travels to the UK and Finland
On November 18-22, 2024, Assistant Secretary for Arms Control, Deterrence, and Stability, Mallory Stewart, will visit London and Helsinki. This trip will focus on arms control, nuclear deterrence, emerging threats, and regional stability.
In London, Stewart will participate in a dialogue hosted by the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). This meeting will include NATO representatives, U.S. officials, and experts from various organizations. They will discuss NATO’s role in arms control and ways to strengthen multilateral agreements.
In Helsinki, Stewart will meet with senior Finnish officials. She will also join a roundtable discussion at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA) about international norms, particularly regarding space security and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in military contexts.
This visit highlights the U.S. commitment to building international partnerships and promoting global security through diplomacy and strategic measures.
