chris Heck Joins LIV Golf League as President
Chris heck, formerly a key figure at Aston Villa, has been appointed president of business operations for LIV Golf, the Saudi Arabia-backed golf league.
Heck’s departure from Aston Villa followed a two-year period during which the Premier League team qualified for the Champions League.
The move coincides with U.S. Amateur champion Jose Luis Ballester’s decision to join Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs GC team, turning down an opportunity to play on the Korn Ferry Tour. Ballester joins other notable players such as Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, and Jon Rahm in the LIV Golf League.
Scott O’Neil, LIV Golf chief, said Heck’s commercial experience and leadership skills will help the league grow. He added that Heck’s qualities will move them closer to the vision of yasir Al-Rumayyan.
The LIV Golf League features 14 events each year, with each tournament consisting of three rounds. An associated team series combines individual scores to determine team standings.
LIV Golf Attracts Top Talent
The top 24 golfers in the LIV Golf League earn points, with high finishes helping players avoid potential elimination from the competition. Joaquin Niemann, DeChambeau, and Rahm currently hold the top three positions in the individual standings. Niemann has secured two victories this season, while Garcia, DeChambeau, Marc Leishman, and Adrian Meronk have each claimed one win.

rahm’s Legion XIII leads the team standings, followed by Garcia’s Fireballs and DeChambeau’s Crushers. Ripper GC is the only other team to have won a team title this season.
