Atlantic Canada Faces Stormy Weekend with Heavy Rain and Gusty Winds
Storm Impacts Atlantic Canada This Weekend
A significant storm is set to affect Atlantic Canada this weekend. Strong winds and heavy rain will hit the region, providing relief for areas that have experienced limited rainfall recently. The rain is especially beneficial for the Maritimes, where water levels have recently dropped.
Halifax, for instance, recorded just 9% of its expected November rainfall prior to this storm. In contrast, parts of Newfoundland have already received 133% of their normal rainfall for the month.
Heavy rain will continue through Saturday, leading to scattered showers on Sunday. The storm will mainly impact Prince Edward Island, coastal New Brunswick, and Newfoundland. Wind gusts will remain strong but may weaken into Sunday, with speeds ranging from 40-60 km/h across the Maritimes.
This weekend’s storm is just the beginning, as additional systems are expected to affect the region through the end of November.
