According to Hill, his crew chief faced a tough decision to drop him from third to 14th during a restart, but the team’s belief in him ultimately led to victory. He noted that no other drivers took the middle lane during the restart, allowing him to capitalize.

Brennan Poole was running second on the final lap but was shuffled out of line while attempting a pass for the lead. Hill then defended against challenges from Justin Allgaier and Jordan Anderson to secure the win.

Hill’s victory marks the fourth time in five races that he has won the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series opener at Daytona.
