Avalanche Sign Stienburg, Polin to One-Year Contracts

The Colorado Avalanche have re-signed forwards Matthew Stienburg and Jason Polin to one-year contracts, the team announced Friday. Financial details of the deals were not disclosed.
Stienburg, 24, is looking to secure a bigger role with the Avalanche after an upper-body injury sidelined him for much of the 2024-25 season.Drafted by Colorado in the third round of the 2019 NHL draft, Stienburg made his NHL debut on Oct. 16. He played in eight games,recording 22 penalty minutes but no points.
Polin,26,an undrafted player,debuted in the NHL during the 2023-24 season. Over the past two seasons, he has played nine games for the Avalanche, tallying one goal and two penalty minutes. Polin played college hockey at Western Michigan University from 2019 to 2023.
