Avera Health Tackles Drug Shortages With Civica ⁢Rx partnership

Avera Health, based‍ in Sioux Falls, S.D., is partnering with Civica Rx to mitigate the impact of drug shortages on patient care. the collaboration aims to provide⁢ Avera Health with more reliable access to crucial generic sterile injectable medications, many of wich are frequently in short supply across the U.S.

The American Hospital Association reports that over 99% of hospital and health system pharmacists are grappling ‍with drug shortages, with 85% describing the impact as either critical or moderate.

“The partnership with Civica helps us better serve our patients‍ by providing them the medicines they need at a point⁣ of care,” Thomas Johnson, PharmD, Avera Health’s vice president of diagnostic and therapeutic services, ​said.
