Chart-Topping Success and Career Milestones
The past year has seen remarkable achievements for artists represented by AWAL in the UK. Sabrina Carpenter’s latest album, “Emails I Can’t Send,” recently hit the top spot of the Official Albums Chart, triumphing over Oasis in a closely contested chart battle. This marks a significant milestone for the artist and underscores AWAL’s ability to champion artists to mainstream success.
Adding to the impressive roster of achievements, AWAL-affiliated rapper and polymath Little Simz reached a new career-high on the U.K. Albums Chart with her sixth album, “lotus.” the album peaked at No. 3,representing her biggest opening-week sales to date. Following her prosperous curation of London’s Meltdown Festival in June, Little Simz is set to headline london’s O2 Arena this fall, further cementing her status as a leading figure in contemporary music.
Irish country-pop star Cmat also drew a massive crowd at Glastonbury Festival in June. AWAL is set to release her third LP, “Euro-Country,” on August 29. Her track “Take a Sexy Picture of Me” has garnered an impressive 18 million streams since its May release and has ignited a viral TikTok dance trend, showcasing Cmat’s growing influence and the power of her music to connect with audiences.
Moreover, Icelandic-Chinese star Laufey has achieved a hat-trick of top 40 singles in 2024, with three festive songs – “Winter Wonderland,” “Christmas Magic,” and “Santa Baby” – charting in the UK. Her highly anticipated third LP, “A Matter of Time,” is scheduled for release on August 22, promising another significant contribution to the jazz-influenced pop landscape.
