AWS Expands Global Infrastructure, Amazon Q Developer Integration
Amazon Web Services is growing its global presence with a new Region planned for South America, giving customers more options for low latency and data residency.This expansion coincides with the availability of several new instance types in additional Regions.
AWS is also extending the reach of Amazon Q Developer into Amazon OpenSearch Service, providing AI-powered assistance to developers.

- Amazon Q Developer: Now integrated with amazon OpenSearch service, offering AI assistance for building search applications.
- South America (Chile) Region: A new AWS Region is in the works, providing lower latency and enhanced data residency.
- AWS Zero Trust Accelerator for Government: A new tool to help public sector organizations implement zero trust security architectures.
- Amazon EBS Provisioned Rate for Volume Initialization: accelerates data transfer from EBS snapshots to new EBS volumes.
Instance Announcements
AWS has expanded instance availability for several instance types across various Regions:
- Amazon EC2 C8gd, M8gd, and R8gd instances are now available in the AWS Europe (Frankfurt) Region.
- Amazon EC2 R7g instances are now available in additional AWS Regions and AWS GovCloud (US-East).
- Amazon EC2 X2idn instances are now available in the AWS Israel (Tel Aviv) Region.
- Amazon EC2 P5en instances are now available in the AWS US West (N.California) Region.
