Aziz Dabala Murder Case: Seven Suspects Undergo DNA Testing

On Thursday, April 16, 2026, new developments emerged in the high-profile double murder case of Abdoul Aziz Ba, known as Aziz Dabala, and Boubacar Gano, alias “Waly”, in Pikine-Technopole, Senegal. The case, which originated from the killings on the night of August 18–19, 2024, has seen renewed judicial activity with the summoning of key suspects for DNA sampling at the Division of Criminal Investigations (DIC).

According to verified reports, seven individuals suspected in the murder of Aziz Dabala and Waly were called to appear before the DIC for preliminary investigative procedures, including the collection of biological samples. Among those summoned was Nabou Lèye, a dancer who has been repeatedly referenced in the investigation as a person of interest. Her appearance follows a period of provisional release after earlier detention in connection with the case.

The renewed focus on Nabou Lèye comes amid ongoing scrutiny of her alleged role in the events leading up to the murders. Investigators have cited financial transactions and phone records as critical evidence linking several suspects to the crime scene. Earlier in the case, Mamadou Lamine Diaw, also known as Modou Lô, confessed to acting alone in the killings, stating he had no regrets and claimed responsibility for the deaths during police interrogation.
