Authorities say Boatman had‍ been drinking before ‍picking up his daughter ⁤from a relative’s⁢ home around 2 a.m. He then returned home and allegedly failed to ‍take the child out of the ​car. A family member discovered the unresponsive child around ⁤noon, and she was pronounced dead‌ at the scene. This tragic hot car death highlights ‍the dangers of leaving⁢ children ‌unattended in vehicles, especially during extreme heat.

Sheriff Randy Smith expressed his condolences, emphasizing ​the fatal consequences of leaving a child in a hot vehicle.⁢ He attributed the tragedy to impaired judgment.
