Guangzhou No. 7 Middle School Experimental School Wins National Women’s Football Championship for Second Time
Guangzhou No. 7 Middle School Experimental School held a celebration for the women’s football team to win the national championship for the second time. In the final of the 2024 National Five-a-side Football Youth Championship (Women’s U13) held by the Chinese Football Association on September 1, the Guangzhou No. 7 Middle School Experimental School women’s football team reversed their opponents 4-3 and successfully defended the title.
Guangdong Football Association Chairman Xie Changjing, Vice Chairman Zhao Lihong, Guangzhou Football Association Vice Chairman Mai Chao, Guangzhou Education Bureau Sports, Health and Art Department Director Sun Lixin, Yuexiu District Party Committee Standing Committee Member Wang Jing, Yuexiu District CPPCC Vice Chairman and Education Bureau Director Zou Weihong and others attended the event to celebrate the brilliant achievements of Qishi Women’s Football Team.
The Experimental School of the Seventh Middle School has focused on creating the sports and art characteristics of “one school and three products” (women’s football, baseball, and folk music). While continuously improving the quality of teaching, it strives to provide students with different specialties with sufficient growth space and display platforms. The school has been successively rated as the Guangzhou Campus Football Promotion School, Guangzhou Traditional Football Project School, Guangdong Province Football Promotion School, and National Youth Campus Football Featured School.
Zhang Xianjie, deputy secretary of the Party branch and principal of Guangzhou No. 7 Middle School Experimental School, said that the school adheres to the principle of “using sports to educate people” and uses football as a means to improve the physical health of all teachers and students in the school. By carrying out football teaching, large breaks, campus football leagues, organizing football cultural festivals and other activities, the school vigorously promotes the popularization and improvement of campus football and fully implements the educational belief of “health first”.
This championship experience made goalkeeper Chen Chuxin deeply understand the spirit of unity, cooperation, never giving up and moving forward courageously. Xie Changjing, chairman of the Guangdong Football Association, said that the championship of the Qishi Women’s Football Team added luster to Guangdong football, set a benchmark for campus football in Guangdong Province, and also explored more ideas and directions for the integration of sports and education and the improvement of the competitive level of campus football, thereby helping the development of Chinese football.
The championship victory of the Qishi women’s football team has made the school more determined to follow the distinctive path of using physical education and arts education to improve the quality of education. In the future, the school will further deepen the construction of campus physical education and arts courses, and promote the vigorous development of sports and art education such as baseball and track and field.
