Government Efforts to Prevent Power Cuts
Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouli expressed the state’s efforts to ensure that power cuts do not return.
At a press conference held from the government headquarters in New Alamin, Madbouli said there are at least 2 to 3 weekly meetings with the Ministers of Petroleum and Power to follow up and ensure the state fulfills its obligations to prevent power outages.
The government is working to secure full demand for all activities in the country to prevent any disruption.
The Minister of Petroleum held a meeting with companies operating in Egypt and agreed on an additional new incentive package that encourages them to increase production rates from Egyptian fields and land, reducing import bills in early 2025 before the economic crisis.
The Prime Minister confirmed that the Egyptian gas and oil fields have not reduced their production, but investment resources are needed to continue prospecting and exploration with foreign partners to reduce the import bill.
