Burnt Electric Wheel Causes Vehicle Fire

According to the Jeju Island Fire and Safety Headquarters on the 4th, a fire broke out in a sports utility vehicle (SUV) driving on a road in Doryeon-dong, Jeju City at 11:57 p.m. the previous day.
The substitute driver who was driving the customer’s vehicle at the time called 119 when sparks and smoke came out of the electric wheel placed in the back seat of the vehicle.
The fire was extinguished after burning the electric wheel and part of the rear seat of the vehicle, and fortunately, no casualties occurred.
Fire authorities believe the fire was caused by abnormal heat generation from the battery installed in the electric wheel and are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
