Backstabbing in the Apocalypse: No More Room in Hell 2 Trades PvP for Traitorous Twists
No More Room in Hell 2: A True PvE Experience with a Twist
No More Room in Hell 2 is set to launch into Early Access next month, just in time for Halloween. This highly anticipated game promises a unique zombie experience, building on the success of the original. In an interview with Ken Bourgon at Gamescom, we learned that the game will be a true PvE experience at launch, but with a twist – there’s still room for betrayal among friends.
Bourgon explained that permanent death is a more significant risk in the game, as players must consider their teammates’ well-being. “If your character has played five to ten games, then it’s worth it,” he said. This approach adds a layer of strategy and teamwork to the game, as players must weigh the risks and benefits of their actions.
In No More Room in Hell 2, players can transform into zombies if they get bitten while running. However, in the Early Access version, players won’t be able to control their zombie characters. This mechanic adds a new level of tension and unpredictability to the game, as players must navigate the challenges of being human while also facing the threat of becoming a zombie.
The game’s developers have done extensive playtesting to ensure that the game is balanced and fun. Bourgon described a scenario where a teammate is locked in a room surrounded by zombies, and the player must decide whether to help or abandon them. “Some people might be happy, some people might be unhappy,” he said. “Let’s call it a game: Friend Maker or Friend Destroyer.”
No More Room in Hell 2 launches into Early Access on October 31st. With its unique blend of PvE gameplay and social dynamics, this game is sure to be a hit with fans of the original and newcomers alike.
