Badminton Superstar Zheng Siwei Serves Up a New Role: Inspiring the Next Generation as Century City Yingfeng’s First Champion Teacher
Olympic Champion Zheng Siwei Appointed as Specially-Appointed Teacher of Century City Yingfeng Champion Classroom
Recently, Qianjiang Century City Yingfeng Street held an event to celebrate the 40th Teachers’ Day. As a special guest of the event, Zheng Siwei, the badminton mixed champion of the Paris Olympics, received the appointment letter from Li Chengli, deputy secretary of the Yingfeng Street Party Working Committee and director of the office, and officially became the first specially appointed teacher of the Qianjiang Century City Yingfeng Street Champion Classroom.
Professionalism, hard work, and strict requirements have always been synonymous with the positive energy image of athletes. Zheng Siwei has shown amazing talent in badminton since he was a child. He was selected for the Chinese national badminton team in 2013 and won the mixed doubles runner-up in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the mixed doubles champion of the 2022 Badminton World Championships, and the mixed doubles champion of the 2023 BWF World Tour Finals… In the mixed doubles final of the 33rd Paris Olympics, Zheng Siwei and his teammate Huang Yaqiong cooperated tacitly and played perfectly, winning the first gold medal of the Chinese badminton team in this Olympics.

As an outstanding athlete, Zheng Siwei has demonstrated the spirit of sports to the fullest, which coincides with the educational brand spirit of professionalism, focus, innovation, and win-win that Qianjiang Century City Yingfeng Street has always adhered to.
In recent years, Qianjiang Century City Yingfeng Subdistrict has invested more than 5 billion yuan in construction funds, built 6 primary schools, 3 junior high schools, 2 high schools, and many kindergartens, and the total area of schools built has exceeded 1 million square meters. The regional vision is to build 58 schools, including 41 kindergartens, 10 primary schools, 4 junior high schools, and 3 high schools, to continuously promote the balanced development of education.

Zheng Siwei settled his family in Qianjiang Century City Yingfeng Street a few years ago because of the high-quality educational resources here. Zheng Siwei said: ”Just like sports competition, teamwork spirit is very important in children’s education. Learning is a process of enjoying constant challenges. All children should constantly challenge themselves to become the champion in their minds.”
In September this year, Hangzhou Asian Games Village Experimental Primary School welcomed its first batch of new students. The school advocates innovation in educational concepts with the philosophy of “Let every child become his or her own champion”. The first lesson of Zheng Siwei’s “Champion Classroom” will be taught at the Asian Games Village Experimental Primary School.

“The connotation of this championship has gone beyond the scope of sports competition. It means to make every child taller, stronger, and faster than his or her past.” said Yu Guodi, principal of Xiaoshan Chongwen Century City Education Group.
In fact, this is not a unique slogan proposed by this new school due to its unique geographical location, but “Champion Classrooms” will be opened in all campuses in Century City in the future.
“This class is to let children understand that every bit of progress requires unremitting efforts, and to cultivate children’s spirit of perseverance and courage to challenge.” The relevant person in charge of Qianjiang Century City said, “The champion class will be officially opened soon. We also hope that more champions will join this class. We hope that the class will play the celebrity effect of Olympic champions and gradually build the Qianjiang Century City Yingfeng Street education brand, attracting more education experts, enterprises, students, and social forces to pay attention to us, so that education and the city can achieve two-way travel.”
