The 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards took place on May 8, 2026, at the COEX in Seoul, recognizing the most significant achievements in South Korean television and film. Established in 1965, the ceremony remains one of the most prestigious honors in the industry and was hosted this year by Shin Dong Yup, Suzy, and Park Bo Gum.

The event’s highest honors, the Grand Prizes, were awarded to Ryu Seung Ryong in the broadcast category for The Dream Life of Mr. Kim and Yoo Hae Jin in the movie category for The King’s Warden.

In the movie category, No Other Choice was named Best Movie, with Lee Sung Min securing the award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the same production. Park Jeong Min won Best Actor for The Ugly, while Mun Ka Young earned the Best Actress award for her role in Once We Were Us.

The film division also recognized new talent and technical direction. Park Joon Ho was named Best New Director for 3670, and Park Ji Hoon won Best New Actor for The King’s Warden. Seo Su Bin received the award for Best New Actress. The King’s Warden was honored with the Gucci Impact Award.

In the broadcast category, the Netflix production You and Everything Else won Best Drama, with Song Hye Jin taking home the award for Best Screenplay for the series. The award for Best Actress in the broadcast category went to Park Bo Young for Our Unwritten Seoul, while Park Shin Woo won Best Director for the same project.

Hyun Bin was named Best Actor for Made in Korea. Supporting roles were recognized with awards for Yoo Seung Mok in The Dream Life of Mr. Kim as Best Supporting Actor and Lim Soo Jung in Low Life as Best Supporting Actress.

The broadcast category also highlighted various genres and newcomers:

  • Best Educational Program: Our Shining Days (KBS1)
  • Best Variety Show: The Wonder Coach (MBC)
  • Best New Actor: Lee Chae Min for Bon Appétit, Your Majesty
  • Best New Actress: Bang Hyo Rin for Aema
  • Technical Achievement: Kang Seung Won for the music of The Seasons

Individual entertainment honors were awarded to Kian84 as Best Male Entertainer and Lee Soo Ji as Best Female Entertainer.

Beyond the awards, the red carpet featured notable fashion choices. Mun Ka Young drew attention for appearing in a red gown and displaying a tattoo, marking a distinct change in her usual style.

While most of the evening’s results were met with acclaim, the win for Shin Sae Kyeong as Best Supporting Actress in the movie category for HUMINT has become a subject of debate among observers.
