Bahria Town Champions T20 Cup Announcement

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will host the Bahria Town Champions T20 Cup at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from December 7 to December 25, 2024. This tournament features five teams: ABL Stallions, Engro Dolphins, Lake City Panthers, Nurpur Lions, and UMT Markhors.

Tournament Format:

  • The top team after the league stage goes directly to the final on December 25.
  • The second and third-placed teams compete in a Qualifier on December 23.

Match Schedule:

  • The competition includes 22 matches over 19 days, with six double-headers and eight single-header games.
  • Double-header matches start at 11 AM and 3:30 PM; single-header matches begin at 12 PM.

Match Line-up:

  • December 7: ABL Stallions vs. Lake City Panthers (11 AM) and Nurpur Lions vs. UMT Markhors (3:30 PM).
  • Matches continue daily until December 21, leading into the Qualifier on December 23 and the final on December 25.

Venue and Preparation:

  • All matches occur at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
  • Teams will have practice sessions at various local grounds starting November 28.

Target Audience:
This tournament aims to showcase emerging cricket talent. It provides selectors with insights into potential national team players. The performances may also attract attention from HBL Pakistan Super League franchises.

The PCB has adjusted the schedule of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy to allow domestic players to participate fully in this tournament. The last round of matches will occur from December 27 to January 6.
