Thai Baht Strengthens to 15-Month High Against US Dollar

The Thai baht has shown significant strength against the US dollar, reaching a 15-month high as of September 6, 2024. According to the Siam Commercial Bank Financial Market Group (SCB Financial Markets), the baht value has strengthened to 33.60 baht per US dollar.

Market analysis by Prachachat Thurakit reveals that the baht opened the market at 33.60 baht per US dollar and continued to strengthen throughout the day, touching 33.65 baht per US dollar at its peak. This upward trend has led the region to receive a significant fund flow, as reported by InfoQuest Investing.com.

The Kasikorn Research Center has also reported that the baht closed at 33.65 baht per US dollar, with the strengthening attributed to dollar selling pressure. The online manager noted that the baht’s strength is a result of a weak US dollar, following the release of lower-than-expected US labor numbers.

The baht’s opening value of 33.99 baht per US dollar marked a significant strengthening from the previous day, with the currency continuing to gain momentum throughout the day. As reported by InfoQuest News Agency, the weak US dollar has contributed to the baht’s upward trend.
