## The Flight That Nearly Wasn’t
The journey to Bali started with a nightmare scenario. Stack detailed a flight that experienced catastrophic engine failure, forcing an emergency landing.
“Everyone on that flight shoudl get some kind of legit compensation,” Stack said in a recent interview. “Totally. You know what’s funny? I’ve never gotten anything from an airline. Not a dollar. So maybe this is my time to shine and get some f-king reimbursements for all of the board bag fees I’ve paid my whole life [laughs].”
The incident left him understandably shaken, but remarkably, he managed to refocus and compete at one of the world’s most challenging waves. The Instagram post documenting the ordeal (embedded below) shows the stark reality of the situation.
