Banyuwangi, Indonesia – as the Christmas adn New Year holidays approach, Indonesia is gearing up for a surge of travelers crossing the Bali Strait. The ministry of transportation projects a staggering 1.2 million passengers and 320,000 vehicles will pass through the Ketapang and Gilimanuk ports during this peak season.
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for travelers, ASDP Ketapang, the company managing the Ketapang port, has implemented several measures. “We have prepared additional waiting rooms, healthcare services, and customer care facilities,” said Yani Andrianto, General Manager of ASDP Ketapang. ”We’ve also organized events, set up a playground, and will showcase conventional arts to entertain passengers during their wait.”
The Indonesian goverment is taking a proactive approach to manage the anticipated influx. Deputy Minister of Transportation,Comr. Gen. (Ret) Suntana,recently conducted a coordination meeting wiht relevant stakeholders to review Ketapang Port’s readiness.
“Access to Banyuwangi is becoming increasingly convenient with improved airport connectivity and a growing number of flights,” said Ipuk, a local official.”We hope that travelers crossing the Bali Strait will consider extending their trip and exploring the attractions Banyuwangi has to offer.”
Adding to the preparations, Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa inspected banyuwangi Airport and Ketapang Port, focusing on parking facilities and waiting areas. “We want to provide a memorable experience for passengers during the holidays,” she said. “Showcasing traditional arts, including Banyuwangi music, would be a splendid way to enhance their journey.”
