The nominees for the 68th Ballon d’Or have been announced, and the trophy for the best football ‍player of the year will ⁤be‍ awarded in Paris on ‌October 28, 2024. The question on ‍everyone’s mind is: who will succeed⁣ Lionel Messi, who won‍ the award for the 17th and final time in 2023?

This year’s Ballon d’Or ceremony will‌ be held at the Théâtre du Chatelet in Paris, and it promises to be an ‌exciting event. On the French side, only two players have been shortlisted: William Saliba and Kylian Mbappé. Paris Saint-Germain and French clubs are also represented by Vitinha, while female⁤ candidates include ⁢Grace Jayolo and Marie-Antoinette-Cato, who‌ also play ‍for Paris Saint-Germain. In recent years, ‍the selection rules ‌of the Ballon d’Or have changed, with personal performance becoming ⁢the ⁣primary criterion. This shift in focus has opened up opportunities for new players to shine and be recognized for their achievements.
