for Universal Pictures. According to reporting from Deadline on May 7, 2026, Kormákur is set to both direct and produce the project, while Theron will produce with an eye to star in the film.
The production is based on an unpublished novel by Stan Parish. Parish is attached to adapt the script for the film and will also serve as an executive producer.
