Baltimore Homicide: Darrien Robinson Jr. Arrested in Darrius Hines Shooting

Baltimore Police Arrest Man in October 2025 South Baltimore Homicide

The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) has arrested 23-year-old Darrien Robinson Jr. In connection with the death of 29-year-old Darrius Hines, which occurred last October in South Baltimore.

Investigators believe Robinson fatally shot Hines on the evening of October 15, 2025. Hines was discovered on the 500 block of Callendar Street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.

On February 10, 2026, at approximately 6:45 a.m., officers with the Warrant Apprehension Task Force located and arrested Robinson on the 3000 block of Greenmount Avenue. He was subsequently transported to the Central Booking & Intake Facility, where he faces charges of first- and second-degree murder.

The arrest comes months after the shooting, and marks a significant development in the investigation. Baltimore has seen a concerning number of homicides in recent years, and this arrest represents a step toward accountability in one such case.

Further details regarding the investigation, including potential motives and evidence linking Robinson to the crime, have not yet been released by the BPD. The department has not commented on whether the shooting was related to any ongoing disputes or criminal activity.

This arrest follows other recent homicide investigations in the Baltimore area. Just last month, Baltimore police arrested a suspect in a Pigtown murder case from October 2025, as reported by WBFF. A man was arrested in connection with a deadly double shooting in Federal Hill, also according to WBFF. These arrests signal an ongoing effort by the BPD to address violent crime in the city.

Elsewhere in Baltimore County, an 18-year-old was recently charged in the shooting death of a 16-year-old outside Lansdowne High School, as reported by WBFF. This case highlights the broader issue of youth violence impacting the region.

The investigation into Hines’ death remains active, and the BPD encourages anyone with information to come forward. The department has not released information regarding potential witnesses or surveillance footage related to the shooting.

Robinson is currently awaiting trial, and the outcome of the case will likely depend on the evidence presented by the prosecution and the defense. The charges against him carry significant penalties, including the possibility of life imprisonment if convicted of first-degree murder.
