Bamboo Airways’ General Director Faces Exit ‍Suspension⁣ Due to⁤ Tax Debts

Mr.‍ Luong‍ Hoai Nam,‍ General Director of Bamboo‌ Airways, is working to revive the business and plans to pay tax debts‍ in stages, seeking support from ⁣tax authorities.

The Binh Dinh Tax Department issued a ‍notice of temporary exit suspension for Mr. Nam on September 11, citing unpaid⁢ tax obligations. The suspension ​will remain in effect until Bamboo⁣ Airways fulfills its tax ‌payment obligations to the state budget.

According​ to Bamboo Airways, the issue stems from an administrative problem being addressed in accordance with ⁢the law, unrelated to Mr. Nam’s personal ⁤matters.

Mr. Nam ⁣expressed his concerns about ​the situation, stating ​that the airline’s financial difficulties have led⁤ to ​a request for‍ bankruptcy, which⁢ was not ⁢granted. He emphasized the need for support to overcome these challenges and⁢ fulfill⁣ tax obligations.

The company has submitted a document to ⁤the Binh Dinh ⁢Provincial Tax Department requesting removal of this obstacle. Mr. Nam and the Bamboo‍ Airways Board of Directors are actively coordinating ⁤with authorities to find solutions to the tax debt issue.

Since his appointment⁢ as General Director in October 2023, Mr. ⁤Nam has led the airline through a difficult ‍period, maintaining‌ operations and achieving ⁣some financial improvements. The airline⁤ aims ‍to achieve total revenue of VND 4,857 billion and reduce losses to VND 1,387 billion in 2024, with the goal of breaking even and ⁣making a profit‌ in the ⁤following years.
