“AN INCIDENT AT THE AIRPORT IS UNDER INVESTIGATION. FIRST RESPONDERS ARE ON SCENE AND ASSESSING THE SITUATION,” Bangor International Airport said in a Facebook post just before 8:30 p.m.
They asked people to avoid the airport and said the runway is closed.
The Federal Aviation Management later said the plane was a Bombardier challenger 600 and confirmed that it crashed as it was taking off from the airport around 7:45 p.m. A source familiar with the situation first reported the facts to NBC News.
