Lawsuits Allege Banks Facilitated Sex Trafficking
An anonymous victim of Jeffrey Epstein,identified as Jane Doe,filed class-action lawsuits on Wednesday,October 9,2024,against Bank of America and BNY Mellon,alleging their involvement in Epstein’s sex-trafficking operation. The cases were filed in Manhattan federal court seeking financial damages.
According to the complaints, Jane Doe first encountered Epstein while residing in Russia in 2011 and was a New York resident from 2011 to 2019 during the period of abuse.
Allegations Against Bank of America
The lawsuit accuses Bank of America of knowingly participating in and financially benefiting from Epstein’s sex-trafficking activities. The complaint specifically states that the bank directly benefited from the operation.
Bank of America did not respond to requests for comment as of October 15,2025.
Previous Settlements with JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank
David Boies and Brad Edwards, attorneys who previously represented victims in cases against JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank, filed the lawsuits against Bank of America and BNY Mellon. JPMorgan settled similar class-action allegations for $290 million, and Deutsche Bank paid $75 million, as reported by the Financial Times.
