Bank of Ireland is modernizing its ATM network with a significant €60 million investment across its branch infrastructure. As of today, August 29, 2024, 118 new ATMs have been deployed at 30 branch locations nationwide as part of this ongoing upgrade programme.
Enhanced Customer Experience and Efficiency
The new ATMs – 71 installed internally and 47 externally – represent a shift to state-of-the-art technology. This upgrade is designed to improve both the customer experience and the operational efficiency of the bank’s cash access points. The improvements aim to provide more reliable and accessible cash services to customers across Ireland.

Continued Rollout Planned for 2024
According to Bank of Ireland, the ATM rollout will continue with plans to install around 50 additional devices at approximately 15 more locations before the end of 2024. This demonstrates the bank’s commitment to maintaining a robust and modern ATM network.
Susan Russell, CEO of Bank of Ireland’s retail Ireland division, emphasized the importance of this investment, stating the new ATMs are “more efficient, more accessible, and better equipped to meet the needs of our customers.” The upgrades underscore the bank’s dedication to modernizing its infrastructure and ensuring continued access to cash services throughout the country.
