Security Measures During National Holidays

Luis Opazo, general manager of ABIF, highlighted that “we are working closely with the Undersecretary for Crime Prevention and the Public Ministry to mitigate crime. It is essential that customers remain alert and notify the entity’s security personnel of any suspicious behavior.”

Practical Tips for National Holidays 2024

The Central Bank of Chile presented a series of recommendations on recognizing bills and coins during these National Holidays.

  • Prefer digital payment methods: Debit and credit cards offer greater security and convenience compared to using cash.
  • Plan your cash withdrawal in advance: Avoid crowds and potential inconvenience at ATMs.
  • Foreign trips: Make sure you activate your credit and debit cards in advance, and check relevant security measures through your bank.
  • Be careful with your banking information: Keep your keys private and monitor balances remotely via apps or web portals.
