Barca Lures Szczesny Back Between the Sticks: A Goalkeeper’s Second Coming
Barcelona Tempt Szczesny to Return as Goalkeeper
Spanish media outlets are reporting that Barcelona are making a concerted effort to convince Wojciech Szczesny to come out of retirement and return to the pitch. Szczesny’s contract with Juventus expired, and he announced his decision to hang up his gloves last summer.
However, Barcelona are not the only club interested in Szczesny’s services. Another contender has emerged in the form of Keylor Navas, the veteran Costa Rican goalkeeper who recently ended his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona’s need for a new goalkeeper has become increasingly urgent following the serious injury sustained by Ter Stegen. The German goalkeeper suffered a torn knee ligament and is expected to be out of action for at least 7 months, with a possibility of missing the entire season.
