Key Trends in Irish Job Searches

Job searches ‍on ‍Indeed reveal significant trends in the Irish labor market as of late 2023. “Barista” topped ⁢the list for growth in job⁤ searches this year, indicating a strong demand within ⁣the hospitality sector.Following closely behind ‍were searches ⁤for “Ireland visa sponsorship” and “hotel” positions, securing the ‌second ‍and ⁣third ranks respectively.

Other roles ⁢appearing in the top ten searches included⁣ “receptionist” and “kitchen porter,” further highlighting the resilience of Ireland’s hospitality ⁣industry. Notably, a significant 14% of all searches on‌ Indeed’s Irish⁢ site originate from individuals located outside of Ireland, demonstrating the country’s increasing appeal to international workers.

The Rise of Flexible Work

The demand‍ for flexible work arrangements continues to grow. Searches for “remote” and ”work from home” roles remain consistently high, and nearly one in ⁢five (19%) job ⁣postings in Ireland now explicitly offer remote or hybrid options. This ⁤sustains the shift toward flexible working models that accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This trend reflects a broader change in worker expectations ‍and priorities. The most common ‍search query on Indeed Ireland remains a “blank” search‌ – jobseekers entering onyl a‌ location without specifying a job title -‍ suggesting both career exploration‍ and ⁣uncertainty among‍ those⁢ seeking new ⁢opportunities.

A Globally ‍Connected Workforce

Ireland’s ⁣labor market is becoming increasingly internationalized. ⁤ Currently, 42% of ⁤workers ⁤in ireland have prior foreign work ‌experience, contributing to a diverse and skilled workforce. The increased⁣ interest in visa sponsorship opportunities underscores Ireland’s attractiveness⁢ as a destination⁢ for ‍global talent.

These findings were released ⁢in conjunction with Indeed’s ‍annual FutureWorks event in Dublin, where hiring⁣ professionals are gathering to discuss the future of work. The event‌ features a keynote address from musician and activist Bob‌ Geldof.

This analysis reflects data available as of October 23, 2023, and provides insights into current trends in the Irish job market.
