Barry Manilow, 83, canceled upcoming performances of his Las Vegas residency at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino following vocal and technical problems that forced him to end a concert early, according to reporting by The Independent and Page Six. The latest cancellations arrive just six months after the Grammy-winning pop icon underwent surgery for lung cancer.
Residency Shows Canceled After Abbreviated Performance
The string of cancellations began on August 20, when Manilow cut his performance short after performing for just 40 minutes, citing technical difficulties, as reported by The Independent. Following the shortened set, representatives for the singer announced via Instagram that the Friday and Saturday night performances of his “The Hits Come Home!” residency would also be scrapped. Ticket holders were informed in the post’s comments section that refunds for the canceled dates would be issued automatically, as noted by Page Six. Broadway star Audra McDonald was among those responding publicly, writing Feel better, Barry!
in the comments.
Prior Postponements and Lung Cancer Recovery
The sudden cancellations mark the second time within a single month that Manilow has pulled the plug on a concert shortly before taking the stage. Earlier in August, according to Page Six, the singer abruptly canceled a scheduled performance at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky, posting to X that the show was rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances. That particular arena date had originally been scheduled for March before facing an initial postponement.
The touring disruptions follow Manilow’s public disclosure in December 2025 that doctors discovered a cancerous spot on his left lung during an MRI scan. According to Page Six, the singer underwent surgery to remove the tumor, which required him to reschedule the initial February run of his Las Vegas residency dates. Speaking to People in March, Manilow described the ordeal as a nightmare while expressing gratitude for early detection. I’m one of the lucky ones; I don’t have to have chemo, radiation and all that stuff,
he told People, noting that the diagnosis caused him to reevaluate his life and career goals.

Decades-Long Career and Las Vegas Residency
Manilow has maintained a steady presence in Nevada since launching “The Hits Come Home!” residency at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino in May 2018. His storied career spans over six decades, during which he has released more than 30 studio albums and generated numerous chart-topping pop standards, including “Mandy,” “Copacabana (At the Copa),” “Can’t Smile Without You,” and “I Write the Songs.” Representatives for the singer did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the rescheduling of the most recent Las Vegas dates, according to The Independent.
