Baseball United,the Middle East and South Asia’s first professional baseball league,is partnering with Tokyo Broadcast System (TBS) to launch a new competition series,”TRYOUT: PLAN D.” The initiative aims to discover and develop young Japanese baseball talent for professional opportunities.
“TRYOUT: PLAN D” will feature hundreds of athletes vying for two roster spots with the Mid East Falcons,a founding team in Baseball United. the winning pitcher and hitter will get to play for the Falcons during Baseball United’s inaugural season in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The series will air alongside TBS’s documentary show, バース・デイ (Birthday), known for its storytelling about athletes. The collaboration seeks to combine reality television with competitive sports, offering a global stage for Japanese baseball prospects. The baseball united league hopes to tap into a new market.
The tournament is scheduled from July to November, preceding Baseball United’s first season, which begins Nov. 14 in Dubai. Participants will face challenges testing their baseball skills, mental strength, physical conditioning, and passion for the game. The two winners will be announced before the season starts.
“Japan is one of the greatest baseball nations in the world,” said Kash Shaikh, chairman, CEO, and co-founder of Baseball United. “Baseball is engrained into the culture, history, and future of this country. And we certainly know there are a lot of talented players that just need an opportunity to showcase their ability.”
Shaikh described “TRYOUT” as a celebration of culture and an opportunity for resilience. The TBS partnership will help baseball united reach a wider audience.

“TRYOUT” will premiere on TBS platforms in July, with behind-the-scenes content on Baseball United’s outlets. The two winning players will be introduced as Mid East Falcons members before their game against the Karachi Monarchs on Nov. 19.
