DOHA, Qatar (AP) — Marc Marquez emerged victorious at teh Qatar Grand Prix, concluding a hard-fought race that saw multiple lead changes and dramatic incidents. The race featured a compelling duel with Maverick Vinales and Francesco bagnaia, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until the final laps.
Morbidelli’s Strong Start
Franco Morbidelli launched into the lead at the start, with Marc Marquez closely tailing him. Pecco Bagnaia also demonstrated an notable start, swiftly gaining several positions.
Marquez, Di Giannantonio Incident
Early in the race, Alex Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio made contact, forcing Di Giannantonio to run wide and restart from 21st position. Alex Marquez was later handed a long lap penalty, which he served on the 17th lap, rejoining the race in 12th place.
Bagnaia’s Challenge
On the 19th lap, Bagnaia overtook Vinales to seize third place. He then passed Marquez on the following lap, briefly taking second position.
Marquez Responds
Marc Marquez retaliated two laps later, reclaiming second place. Vinales also overtook Bagnaia, pushing him back to fourth.
Crashes and Withdrawals
Further back, Miller, Fernandez, and Mir crashed out of the race. Jorge Martin also crashed after an incident with a curb and was taken to the medical centre for evaluation.
Marquez Takes the Lead
With seven laps remaining, Marquez moved into the lead and maintained his position to the finish. Vinales attempted to close the gap but was unable to mount a successful challenge. Bagnaia finished third, salvaging a podium finish after a challenging weekend.
Bezzecchi and Bastianini’s Recovery
Marco bezzecchi made a positive recovery, gaining two positions in the final laps to finish in 10th place. Enea Bastianini also recovered ground to finish 12th, earning valuable points.
