According​ to the Slovak ⁣Credit Bureau (CRIF),29 companies in⁣ Slovakia filed for bankruptcy in October 2023. This included 26 limited liability companies (spoločnosti s ručením obmedzeným) and three joint-stock companies (akciové spoločnosti). CRIF -⁢ Slovak Credit Bureau ⁣reported ​that ‍employee numbers varied significantly among the ⁤bankrupt firms.

The vast majority of this‍ debt – over €11.8 million – is owed ‌to the Financial Administration of ‍the Slovak Republic (Finančná⁤ správa Slovenskej republiky), with additional amounts owed to the Social Insurance ⁣Agency (Sociálna poisťovňa) (€339,000) and the General Health Insurance Company (VšZP)⁢ (€93,000). N-Bonaparte, the company owned by Ladislav Baštrnák, ‌stands out as the largest debtor ⁣in the October‌ bankruptcy ⁣list, owing the state €2.4 million. ⁣ The company was ‌primarily ⁢involved in real ‍estate‌ development and⁢ is best known for ‌constructing the​ Bonaparte apartment complex in Bratislava’s ​old Town.
