BATON ROUGE, La. — A shooting in Baton Rouge left one person dead Sunday afternoon, according to Baton Rouge Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
EMS responded to the 500 block of Sharp Lane around 3:15 p.m. And confirmed that the coroner had been called.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said homicide detectives are investigating the shooting. No further details have been given at this time.
BRPD is investigating a shooting on Sharp Lane.
This incident marks at least the second shooting reported on Sharp Lane in recent years. In August 2020, a shooting in the 600 block of Sharp Lane at the Chateau DeVille Condominiums resulted in one death and another individual jumping from a second-story window to escape, according to reports from WAFB.
The 2020 shooting prompted neighbors to express concerns about a history of thefts, break-ins and shootings in the apartment complex.
