Battlefield 2042 introduces new content along with free Battle Pass
Battlefield 6’s open beta has concluded, but the fun doesn’t have to stop. Battlefield 2042 has introduced exciting in-game benefits to keep fans engaged, despite its past performance issues.
DICE aimed to restore faith in long-standing fans after the challenges faced by Battlefield 2042, and it appears they’ve succeeded, as the Battlefield 6 open beta attracted over half-a-million players.

Battlefield 2042 was a setback for the franchise, plagued by bugs, performance issues, missing features, and a lack of community input. Though, the game has improved, and a recent surprise update offers a reason to revisit.
The 9.2.0 update adds the iconic Iwo Jima map (previously featured in BF1942,BF1943,and BF5),along with two new weapons – the KFS2000 Assault Rifle and the Lynx Sniper Rifle – and two new vehicles, the A10 Warthog and SU-25TM Frogfoot.
Moreover, the premium Battle Pass is now free from August 18 to October 7, 2025, encouraging players to continue enjoying Battlefield 2042 until the release of Battlefield 6 on October 10, 2025.
