The British Columbia Ministry of Forests ⁣has signed a ​memorandum of understanding with china⁤ on⁣ modern wood construction. The‌ province ‌hopes this agreement ⁤will boost the forestry sector as it looks ⁢for alternatives to the American market.

The non-binding, five-year⁢ agreement ‍also⁢ involves Natural⁤ Resources ⁣Canada. It is one of five ‍initial agreements‍ with Beijing following Prime Minister Mark Carney’s arrival this week.

China’s Ministry‌ of Housing and Urban-Rural Progress is also involved, with the agreement providing for cooperation on integrating modern wood construction into Chinese urban renewal and rural revitalization‍ strategies, while exploring practical approaches for ⁤green developments.
