The initiative to replace window air conditioners has been launched in all regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aiming to improve energy consumption efficiency at home. This initiative is a continuation of the initial launch phase that targeted 7 major cities and was successfully completed by the end of 2023.

The initiative is being prepared and implemented by the Saudi Center for Energy Efficiency in collaboration with relevant government agencies, reflecting the Kingdom’s efforts to increase energy efficiency.
Purpose of the Initiative
The initiative seeks to achieve several key goals, including:
- Rationalization of energy consumption: Encouraging citizens to replace old window air conditioners with newer, more efficient devices.
- Inspirational participation: The initiative includes the participation of more than 50 retailers, 350 exhibitors, and 4 national factories.
Benefits of the Initiative
This initiative allows citizens to benefit from various benefits, including:
- 1,000 riyals off the price of a new air conditioner
- Free delivery and installation services
Citizens can visit one of the participating electrical appliance stores or order online from the stores’ websites.
Air Conditioner Replacement Terms
To benefit from the air conditioner replacement initiative, citizens must comply with the following conditions:
- The old air conditioner must remain in its original position, as the new device will be installed in the same place.
- The old air conditioner must be delivered with all its parts, including the compressor and motor, and the device must be in good condition.
- The current air conditioner should be at least 21 years old.
- Air conditioner must be split (window) type.
- The capacity of air conditioners included in the venture is between 17,800 thermal units and 24,200 thermal units.
